Feel beyond weightless as you pull -1G for 3 straight seconds, 40m in the air.

    THE HELIX

A 480 degree helix, sustaining positive G force (up to 4G) for 7 seconds over a distance of 150m.

    THE HIGH DIVE

  • A complex network of electrical cables, data lines and air lines will run underground through these bright orange conduits, keeping the ride running smoothly.

  • Here’s an interesting feature. Being such a large metal structure, some degree of expansion and contraction will occur due to changes in temperature, so this special connection is used on a slow section of track to allow for a little bit of structural movement.

  • The beginnings of the only non inverted loop in the southern hemisphere. The non inverted loop is the one which twists over at the apex, so instead of going upside down, you fly over the top.

  • All good things must come to the end. This straight section of track will hold the magnetic braking system which brings the train to a smooth stop.

  • These stubby columns might not look like much....it’s the lowest part of the ride, but they will hold the track at the bottom of the first drop. At 115km/h, it’s the fastest part of the ride.

  • The end of the line for now. You can see how each piece of track plugs exactly into the next, for a smooth ride.

  • This will eventually be on the highest part of the ride. These stairs run all the way to the crest of the lift hill, allowing our staff to perform their daily maintenance checks. They also serve as an exit in case an evacuation is needed.

  • How does the ride stand up? First, hundreds of foundations were poured in starting in 2016. Each has a set of bolts set into it that match up with millimetre tolerance with the holes in the base plate of the steel columns. Many of these columns are over half a meter in diameter. The columns are craned into place over the bolts and the nuts are tightened with a torque wrench so we know everything is as secure as the engineers have intended.

You'll notice the base plate actually sits up above the concrete foundation with a sizable gap. Down the track (Excuse the pun) we'll fill that in with a special non shrink grout to hold everything together in its final place.

  • Each column has a dog tag with its sequence number and weight. Each part is unique, so this allows us to easily sort things out and use the right lifting equipment.

  • Assembly of the greatest roller coaster ever seen in Australia is well underway. We've actually started at the far end of the ride, which stands proudly next to the entrance of the Warner Bros. Movie World car park.

The track isn’t necessarily built from start to finish. With the tangled nature of some parts of the ride, we can’t install parts yet if they will block access to other parts still to come.
